Mumbai: Sony Entertainment Television’s India’s Best Dancer Season 5 is set to celebrate the golden era of Hindi cinema as veteran actresses Meenakshi Seshadri and Jaya Prada appear as special guests on the upcoming episode.
The episode will feature contestants Vaidehi and Prateek delivering a performance on “Asli India Wala” from the blockbuster Hero. Their presentation impressed the veteran actresses and brought back nostalgic memories for Seshadri.Recalling the success of Hero, Seshadri revealed that the film ran for an entire year at a theatre in Chennai, which she described as a record.
She credited filmmaker Subhash Ghai for giving her the opportunity and said her family in Chennai was immensely proud of her achievement.Speaking about working with Jackie Shroff, she recalled that filming began with a jungle set and the same song.
She said their chemistry was excellent from the very first day and that audiences particularly loved the romantic dimension of their pairing.Seshadri’s memories of Hero and her association with Shroff added an emotional touch to the episode.India’s Best Dancer Season 5 airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
